Martha Jean Smith Davis, Age 77, Montverde, FL passed away February 9, 2014 at home. She was born February 10, 1936 in Alexander City, AL the only child of Lillie May Hamilton & Alphonzo G. Smith. On November 22, 1952 she was united in marriage to Talmon E. Davis in Quitman, MS. She was a local resident since 1984 from Birmingham, AL and was a member of Ferndale Baptist Church where she was the organist for a number of years. She was a loving mother, devoted wife & a Sassy Southern Belle. Her son Talmon A. Davis preceded her in death. Surviving is her husband of 61+ years Talmon E. Davis of the residence; sons Timothy L. Davis (Tim); John T. Davis (Tolbert ) & James T. Davis (Tyler) & 7 grandchildren. The funeral service for Mrs. Davis will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, February 12, 2014 in the Becker Chapel. Pastors Scott Fortenberry & Gordon "Bird" Sanders will officiate. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service. Further services and burial will take place in Hillview Memorial Park in Alexander City, AL. The family suggests memorial contributions to Cornerstone Hospice or FL Lung Association.
