Marta A. Nunez, age 77, returned to her heavenly home on Tuesday, July 9 in Minneola, Florida after a valiant battle with her illness, surrounded by her loving family.  Her devotion to her family and firm belief in God supported her in her fight and ultimately gave her peace.

Marta was born to the late Domingo Agosto and Ramona Vargas on July 29, 1941 in Aguas Buenas, Puerto Rico.  She was immersed in the Catholic community from an early age and it helped to shape the woman she would later become.  In 1959 she relocated to Bridgeport, CT where her story would really begin.  She would go on to marry the love of her life in 1963, raise three children, and be an Assembly Worker for General Electric for over 25 years.  After retirement, there was nothing she loved more than being able to spend time with her family, especially her beloved grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Wilfredo Nunez, her three children Wilfredo Nunez Jr. and his wife Susana Nunez, Ramonita Hernandez and her husband Luis Hernandez, and Sergio Nunez and his wife Patricia Nunez.  She is also survived by her six cherished grandchildren Christina and Nicholas Ortiz Jr., Noel, Noah, Ryan, and Nina Nunez; through whom her legacy will live on.
