Obituary

Marlyn Margaret (Holze) Kremer was born June 16, 1933 in Elgin, Illinois, and died November 29, 2025 in Clermont, FL. Marlyn was predeceased by her husband Donald J Kremer, to whom she was married for 64 years. She is survived by her children; Cindy Falkey (Paul), Vivian Powers (Mark), Don Kremer Jr (Denise) and Debbie Hale (PK). Grand children; Mike, Brian (Abbey), Nick (Taylor), Daniel (Miranda), Jillian (Bobby), Kevin (Dwyer), Jessica (Eugene) and Emily. Great grand children; Emma, Rachel, McKenzie, McKayla, Lewis, Murphy, Camille and Sosie.

Marlyn spent her early years in Hampshire, Illinois, where small-town life wrapped her in the comfort of familiar faces and close-knit family. She often reminisced about working at the soda fountain in the local drugstore, laughing with friends and chatting with neighbors, all while surrounded by the aunts, uncles, and cousins she adored. Hampshire gave her deep roots—and the confidence to leave home for Chicago, where she pursued her nursing degree. That move brought a faster pace, lifelong friendships, and, ultimately, the love of her life. Their college paths crossed again and again until friendship grew into love, and love into marriage.

Life took Marlyn and her growing family on many moves across the country and even overseas before they finally settled in Miami, Florida with four children in tow. She raised them with boundless love, endless patience, and a quiet strength that never wavered. She volunteered wherever she was needed, shuttled children in every direction, cooked countless meals, kept a warm and welcoming home, and passed along life skills—and life lessons—that shaped the adults they would become. Anyone who grew up in the '70s can picture that wood-paneled station wagon, and yes, that was her—driving her kids, their friends, and anyone else who needed a ride, always with a smile and never with complaint.

Returning to nursing brought her renewed purpose. She balanced motherhood, her career, team-mom duties, and the running of an entire household with a grace and energy that inspired everyone around her. Her family learned multitasking from a true master. Over the years, Marlyn filled her life with hobbies that brought her joy: reading, sewing, knitting, quilting, raising finches and Lhasa Apsos, and even tending a little garden year after year.

When she and Don built their cabin in North Carolina, they discovered a new chapter—one that brought peace, renewal, and deep contentment. The cabin quickly became Marlyn's sanctuary. Even later in life, when Don was no longer able to drive, she would pack the car herself, make the long trip from Miami to Murphy, and open the cabin on her own. That place meant the world to her, and she cared for it with the same devotion she gave to her family.

Marlyn was cherished, and she loved fiercely in return. She leaves a space in our hearts that can never be filled. Over the years she fed, ferried, welcomed, and cared for many children who were not her own, simply because that is who she was—a safe harbor, a warm home, a steady source of love. In her later years, nothing brought her more joy than talking about her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

She will be remembered. She will be missed. And she will be loved—always.
