Obituary

Mark Lincon Hartley, 53, of Minneola, Florida passed away, Monday February 5, 2018. Born October 17, 1964 in Quantico, VA, he was the son of the late Christine A. Hartley, and Robert L. Hartley Sr. In addition to his mother and father he was preceded in death by his brothers Robert L. Hartley, Jr. and Dean L. Hartley.

He was raised in Matoaca, VA where he attended Matoaca High school graduating in the class of 1983. Mark sang in the school choir, and played football helping the Matoaca Warriors dominate the field. Mark went on to marry Lisa T. Hartley on December 31, 1986, and though divorced in 2005 they remained friends.

The next chapter of his life brought him to Florida where he worked at ABC bus lines for 19 years. Most recently he held the position of Parts Supervisor. His fellow co-workers described him as very hard working. When not at work he enjoyed playing pool, collecting seeds from around the world to grow at home, as well as building his tiki bar in the back yard. Mark was a music lover, and you could find him singing along to almost any song. NASCAR was a passion of his, and he would go watch the races twice a year from his infield spot. Perhaps his biggest passion was that for his dogs Malcolm who predeceased him, and Simon who Mark thought of as his children.

Surviving are his children Sarah T. Hartley, and Evin Hartley both of South Chesterfield, VA; sister Karen Elise Hartley-West (Jim): sister-in-law Pam Hartley (Dean); nephews Jason Hartley, Chris Hartley, Brett Andrews; nieces Amanda Rambeaut, Amanda Turner, Heather Hartley, and grandson Cameron D. Andrews.

The family will be having a celebration of Marks' life in both Virginia and Florida. Details will be forthcoming. Please contact Sarah with photos and memories of Mark by email along with any questions.
