Obituary

Marjorie Gene Robbins, "Genie", passed away unexpectedly yet peacefully on Sunday, October 1 st .  Gene is survived by a multitude of family members and friends who will forever treasure her captivating smile and her enthusiastic love for Life. They include her two children and their families and a younger brother and sister and their families. She was welcomed into Heaven by her adoring husband of 52 years, her mother and father, among other relatives and friends dearest to her heart.

Marjorie Gene Johnson was born on April 25 th , 1940 in Morgantown, West Virginia. Daun and Gordon Johnson were proud and loving parents who instilled in their children the values of knowledge and education, faith and love for humanity, and the ability to truly appreciate the "simple things" in life. Genie, her brother, Ken, and little sister, Becky,  remained close all throughout her life.

During these childhood years, Gene gained inner strength, determination, and a uniquely positive outlook on life, despite, or more likely, as a result of economic hardships and the absence of a father overseas during World War II.

After graduating from Morgantown High School, Gene went on to study Library Science at West Virginia University. It was during that time she met the love of her life, Clarence, and they were married on June 11 th , 1961. A few years later they were blessed with a daughter, Laurie, and shortly thereafter their son, Mark, and made their home in Piscataway New Jersey. Gene and Clarence resided in New Jersey for many years before retiring to Clermont, Florida in 1999.

Gene's ability to provide an infinite amount of love, support, and loyalty to her family was one of the central focuses and a driving force for her positive energy. Her passion for travel and love for teaching in multiple genres were also a direct result of Genie's zest for life and genuine interest in the people and the world around her. She used these remarkable traits and interests to assist in her work as a member of the Bound Brook United Methodist Church and the Piscataway Township Historical Society in New Jersey. She nurtured her creative talents through art, crocheting, and quilting, and participated in various quilting clubs and shows  in New Jersey and Lake County, Florida. Throughout her lifetime, Genie looked forward to the coming of each new day, taking every opportunity to smile, laugh, and share her eternal capacity to love.

" Dear Genie, you've been our delight."
