Obituary

Marilyn Pelletier Glidewell, 91, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 24, 2025 in Clermont, Florida. Born to Ira Kilby Pelletier and Margaret Swinson Pelletier in Carteret County, North Carolina on December 17, 1933, Marilyn was one of seven sisters. She will be remembered best for her love of family, ability to make people smile, and her quick wit.

Marilyn is survived by her daughter, Ellen Scott and husband, Dwayne, of Raleigh, NC and her son, Kevin Glidewell and wife, Tammie, of Clermont, FL. Her grandchildren, Michelle Glidewell, Sara Anderson (Jon), and Matt Glidewell (Alaina) brought "MaMa" great joy matched only by the happiness brought by her great grandchildren, Brycen, Shelby, Kaden, Jimmy, and Noah. She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Al Glidewell, CAPT, USMC, the love of her life. Marilyn was also predeceased by her six sisters—Ruby Leavell, Evelyn Foust, Margaret Gillikin, Bernice Hopkins, Joyce Gardner, and Kay Arthur.

A Celebration of Life will be held Thursday, July 10, 2025, 12pm, at Becker Funeral Home.  The family will receive friends starting at 11am.  Interment will follow at Florida National Cemetery at 2pm.
