Obituary

Mariangela "Maria" Vazeos-Weible

August 12, 1969 - September 22, 2026

Mariangela “Maria” Vazeos-Weible, born in Queens, New York, was a woman of strong faith, remarkable strength, and an extraordinary capacity to love. Her family roots traced to the islands of Paros and Chios, Greece, and her Greek Orthodox faith was an important part of her life.

Maria moved to the Hudson Valley in 1991 and later to Florida in 2013. She studied fashion merchandising and built a varied career that included work in the fashion industry, family restaurant businesses, and payment processing.

Maria had the biggest smile in the room and a laugh that could lift the people around her. She always knew how to make someone smile. She went above and beyond for her community and was always taking care of others. Her door was open, and so was her heart.

Maria’s Best Attributes

Maria loved harder than anyone. From family to friends, she gave her love fully and generously. In return, she was loved by so many - a true blessing and a reflection of the life she lived.

Maria was exceptionally thoughtful. She remembered the details that mattered to people - birthdays, name days, and the little things someone might like. She had a gift for seeing something unexpectedly and immediately thinking of the person it would make happy. When someone needed her, she gave her time freely, over and over again.

Maria’s strength was remarkable. That strength extended far beyond herself; throughout the years, she did whatever was needed to care for and support so many others.

Her true Joys in life were cooking and entertaining for family and friends, the beach anywhere and a good glass of wine or a tasty Margarita.

Family

Maria is survived by her husband, Jeffrey Weible; her mother, Katina Vazeos; her mother-in-law, Judy Muse; her children, Frank Harpolis, Teddy Harpolis, and Katarina Harpolis; her stepchildren, Jennifer Weible, Victoria Weible, and James Weible; her brothers, Dimitri (Lesia) Vazeos, Larry Vazeos, and Angelo Vazeos; her sisters-in-law, Sandy Lamb and Andrea Muse; and her brother-in-law, Dan Weible. She is also lovingly remembered by many cousins, theias, theos, nieces, nephews, god-siblings, godchildren, and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Theodoros “Teddy” Vazeos, who was there to greet her in heaven. “Her Booboona”
