Marguerite Leite Chapman, age 81, Groveland, affectionately known as "Dolly" passed away October 15, 2011 at Leesburg Regional Medical Center North on Saturday, October 15, 2011under the care of hospice with her family at her bedside. She was born January 21, 1930 in Jacksonville, FL daughter of Roy Jose Leite & Mary McRae Leite and was a local resident since 1962 from Tallahassee. Always active in the community and workplace, she was a former dance instructor at the Arthur Murray Dance Studios, worked at Martin Marietta as a Keypunch Operator, organized the polio drive for the community through the Mascotte Elementary Schools, was a reporter & photographer for the Daily Commercial where she covered Groveland/Mascotte council meetings leading to her column "Backyard Chatter", was Groveland High School library assistant, was Mascotte City Clerk, wrote the grant securing funds for the Mascotte/Groveland Recreational Complex, was finance director for the City of Groveland & was a South Lake Chamber of Commerce volunteer. She was a former member & treasurer of Edge Memorial United Methodist Church and currently a member of Tuscanooga Baptist Church. Hollywood actor, Thomas Edward Chapman, Jr., her husband of 47 years, preceded her in death on July 25, 2010 as did her brothers Robert M. Leite & Roy J. Leite, Jr., and great-granddaughter Isabella Lynn Wilson. Surviving are her children Priscilla Ann Moody, Dania Beach, FL; Mary Moody Wilbanks, husband Alan, William Louis Moody, Jr., wife Angie & Charles Leite Chapman, wife Deanna all of Groveland; step children Thomas Edward Chapman, III, wife Debbie, Orange Beach, AL & Tammy Chapman Ballard, husband Chris, Tuscaloosa, AL; 12 grandchildren & 8 great-grandchildren.
