Margit Casey
1928-2022

Mrs. Casey, 94, passed away on March 14, 2022 in Clermont, FL. Margit was born on January 11, 1928 in Berlin, Germany to the late Emil and Marta Möll​​er. While in school she enjoyed drawing, gymnastics and riding in the sidecar of her father's motorbike.

Following World War II, she got married and moved to the United States. She had 2 daughters, Vera and Ingrid. Due to her husband being in the Army, they moved to New Jersey, Arizona, Izmir Turkey, Berlin and back to New Jersey. They all enjoyed traveling and spending time on military bases.

In 1994 she moved to Charlotte, North Carolina to be with her daughter, Ingrid and help raise her granddaughter, Anna. She was like a third parent to Anna and played a huge part in her and Ingrid's lives. In 2020 she moved to Azalea Park in Florida.

Margit loved working with and riding horses. She made beautiful ceramics and loved going to the beach with her family, both in New Jersey and the Carolinas. She was an avid swimmer and bowler. She enjoyed talking to people and never met a stranger. She loved her daughters and granddaughters and doted on her pets. She was overjoyed at the impending birth of her first great-grandchild.

Margit was preceded in death by her daughters, Vera Casey Gonzalez and Ingrid Pettypool. She is survived by her granddaughters Anna Pettypool (Daniel Puterbaugh), Isabel Alcantara (David) and Olivia Gonzalez ; and her great-grandson Eric Puterbaugh.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, February 25th at 10am at Church of the Messiah, 241 N Main Street, Winter Garden, Florida. A reception will follow in the parish hall.
