Margarita Correa

March 3, 1936 - September 18, 2023

Margarita Correa, age 87, was a native of Puerto Rico who moved to New York City in the late 1960s, where she single-handedly raised her five children.  She moved to Clermont, Florida in December 2021 after the death of her youngest daughter, Lourdes, who had been her caregiver for several years.

During the 21 months in Clermont, she was cared for by her second oldest daughter, Elena and her husband, Neal.  During this time, she attended the Lake County Adult Activity Center, which she loved going to and where she thrived.  She also began attending the Lakeside Church where she met her new Christian family who graciously welcomed her and who poured abundant love into her.  The ministering and overwhelming love she received, led her to accept the Lord as her savior in April of 2022, and the encounter she had with God filled her heart with joy like she had never experienced before.

She was blessed with four daughters (Ivelisse, Elena, Zinnia, and Lourdes) and one son (Angel).  She had seven grandchildren (Jermaine, Carlton, Ricky, Cassie, Jonathan, Christopher, and Paul), nine great grandchildren (Alyssa, Lexeus, Janee, Carlton III, Alexandria, Aidan, Sofia, Max, Mason, Greyson, and Luna), and one great-great grandson (named Seven) all of whom she adored.  She leaves behind Elena and Neal's cat, TuxEmilio, who had become her furry best friend, despite her previous fear of cats.

Margarita was a kind-hearted person who gave even when she had very little for herself.  She enjoyed singing, entertaining her friends at the adult daycare, being with family, attending various church activities, and her passion of eating good food.

Margarita suffered a stroke and peacefully passed away on September 18, 2023 with her family by her side.  She is now resting in peace in the arms of the Lord.   A private celebration of her Life will take place later this year.
