Margaret (Peggy) Lyford, 83, passed away on June 9, 2019 in Clermont, Florida with her family by her side. Peggy was born on April 14, 1936 in Brewer, Maine. She was the daughter of Louis and Marguerite Rice. She was married on February 7, 1959 to Joseph Lyford and moved to the suburbs of Buffalo, New York. Peggy's interests included traveling, music, theatre and dance. She was proud to be the choreographer for the Royal Tappers, a dance troupe out of Royal Highlands. Peggy is a lifelong Catholic. Her ministries were teaching religious education and bereavement. Most recently, she was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. She also volunteered in various capacities including working with children with disabilities, helping at local public schools and leading her daughters' Girl Scout troop. Peggy has lived in the Clermont area since 1998.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Joseph Lyford, sister; Mary Carter, Severna Park, Maryland, son; Kenneth (Melissa) Lyford of Clermont, Florida, daughter; Cheryl (Michael) Miller, Fayetteville, Tennessee and grandchildren; Margaret Miller, Edison, New Jersey, Stephen (Megan) Miller, Jonesboro, Arkansas, Courtney Babchyck, Clermont, Florida, Joseph Lyford, Summerfield, Florida, Nathan Lyford, Clermont, Florida and Jonah Lyford, Clermont, Florida. She was predeceased by son; Charles Lyford, daughter; Suzanne (Bruce) Babchyck, brothers; James (Virginia) Rice, and Thomas Rice
Peggy was a loving wife, mother and nana.
