Margaret Louise(Napier) Byrum, age 83 of Clermont, Florida (formerly of Toledo, OH) passed away on Friday December 14, 2012 at Lake Bennett Health and Rehab in Ocoee, Fl. Margaret was born April 29, 1929 in Prosperity, West Virginia to Alexander and Nora (Price) Napier.
Margaret grew up in Ashland, Kentucky and ventured out on her own at age 21 to visit a girlfriend in Toledo; and decided tostay. She soon found work at Libbey Glass, where she met her future husband, Jim. They were married two years later on Easter Sunday,April 5, 1953. Margaret quit her job two years later to become a mother and housewife.
When Jimretired in 1984, they went to Florida periodically to visit friends and soon they knew that is where they wanted to grow old together. Margaret and her husband went on many trips and Marine reunions, since Jim was very active in the South Lake Marine Corps League. Margaret worked part-time at the South Lake Animal League in Clermont. For those who knew her; she loved to go thrift store shopping.
Margaret is preceded in death by her husband Virgil (Jim) who passed away 2011. She is survived by two daughters, Pam (Jim)Westerman , Terrie Ellis; 5 grandsons, Brett (Cara) Westerman, Derek Westerman, Lucas Latta, Nathan Latta, Aaron Ellis and 2 great-grandsons, Luke J.Westerman and Luke B. Latta, Cousin Mary Lee Salcines of New Jersey, Sister-in-lawJacqueline Milton of Toledo, OH ; and nieces and nephews and many friends in Florida and a special dog named Patches.
Arrangements have been made with Becker Funeral Home in Clermont, Florida, 806 Minneola Drive, Clermont, FL 34711. Viewing will be on Wednesday, December 26 from 10-12 with funeral service immediately after. Margaret will be buried at the Florida National Cemetery (next to her husband) for veterans & spouses in Bushnell, Florida.
