Manuel Vargas, age 66, Clermont, passed away April 11, 2015 at Promise Hospital in Oxford, FL.
He was born July 26, 1948 in Bronx, NY son of Maria DelValle & Manuel Vargas, Sr. He served in the US Air Force during the Vietnam era and retired from the city of New York where he was a corrections officer at Riker''s Island. He was a central Florida resident since 2001 from Bronx, NY.
On January 5, 2003 he was united in marriage to Madeline Sanchez in Kissimmee. He was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church & enjoyed writing poetry. His father preceded him in death.
Surviving are his wife Madeline; mother Maria DeValle, Long Island, NY; children Tiffany Vargas, Yonkers, NY; Bryan Vargas & Brandon Vargas, Clermont; Robert (Somalia) Mercado, Kissimmee & Andrew Mercado, Clermont; grandchildren Matthew Robert Mercado & Miranda Elizabeth Mercado & siblings Sonia (Justin) Prosper, Long Island; Joe (Irene) Vargas, Westchester, NY, Wendy (James) Goodyear, Windermere & his Aunt Elicedia Vargas, Clermont.

Mass of the Resurrection for Manuel Vargas will be held at 10:30 AM on Thursday, April 16, 2015 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, celebrated by Very Reverend Robert Webster.
