Maloy Giddens, 68, of Groveland, Fla died Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at South Lake Memorial Hospital. He was born June 30, 1947 in Albany, GA to W. D. Giddens and Coline Christian Giddens. He is predeceased by his father in 2008.
Survivors include: mother, Coline C. Giddens, Groveland, son, Judson Daniel Giddens (Sandy), two grandchildren, Justin and Cassandra, all of Orlando, sisters, Jean Giddens Cotton (Jack) of Groveland and Barbara Giddens Knight, Rentz, GA and brother, Lynn Giddens of Groveland.
Maloy served 6 years in the Army with two tours of active duty in Vietnam with a Long Range
Reconnaissance Patrol Unit going on many dangerous patrol missions. Later he held several maintenance positions before he
retired from City of Orlando. He was a longtime member of the Veterans of Foreign War, American Legion Post #55 and the Moose Lodges in Pine Castle and Minneola, Fla.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, January 18, 2016 at 2:00 pm at the Mascotte United Methodist Church. The service will be conducted by Adrian Guthrie. A burial with full honors will be held in the Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Fla. at a later date.
