Obituary

Arthur Charles Mayer, Jr. was born January 30, 1935 and passed on April 30, 2021.  Art was born in Flynt, Michigan and grew up splitting his time between Michigan and Florida with his Foster Parents.  Art enlisted in the United States Air Force at the age of 17 and was stationed in England where he met his wife, Jennifer Mayer.  During his military career he obtained his Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from the University of Omaha; worked with Nuclear Missiles and in the Office of Accounting.    He retired as a Major in the Air Force after 20 years of service and resided in Orlando before moving to Windermere, Florida.  After 10 years they moved to Clermont on Lake Louisa Drive before moving to Kings Ridge where they have resided for over 20 years.

Art enjoyed travelling, boating, golfing and playing cards with friends.  Art was a strong, private and patiotic man, who loved his family.  Jennifer, his wife, was the love of his life and they were married almost 67 years.  He is survived by 2 children, Michael Mayer (Elizabeth) and Sheryl Schumacher (Steven); 5 grandchildren, Adam Mayer, Abby Reagin (Ryan), Ashley Handrick (Tim), Scott Schumacher (Megan), Ethan Schumacher; 7 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
