Lura Elaine Thomas passed peacefully from this world Monday, January 1st, 2019 with her devoted husband by her side.

Born Lura Elaine Noles May 8, 1957 in Melbourne, Florida, she married the love of her life Kenny Thomas on July 29 ^th , 1993 in Henry County, Georgia.

It is impossible to summarize her in a few paragraphs, words insufficient to fill the hearts and souls of those she leaves behind with comfort and familiarity. It is impossible to ask that she be remembered by those few lines. To speak of her, her life and legacy, it would take decades and pages unending. For hers was a life well lived. Hers was a heart full of love and laughter. She left this world better than she found it, the lives she touched better for having her in them.

Lura "Elaine" Thomas leaves memories of a warm smile, loving heart, and a kind word for all she met. Her love of Bath and Body Works lotions, flip flops, and penny slots leave warm spots in our souls. With the spirit of an adventurer, she cruised through the world - face turned to the sun and toes dipped in the water waiting for a nibble on her pole. Elaine had the heart of a warrior but she always had room to let another person in to be impacted by her warmth.

Elaine leaves a legacy of love and strength behind in her husband, Kenny; children, Aimee, Sean, and Brooke; her grandchildren, Avery, Peyton, Olivia, Abigail, and Liam, her sister Gail; and all those fortunate enough to have been a part of her life.

Grief is the price of love. For with grief, we know we have experienced the joy of a kindred spirit, the peace of an accepting heart, the comfort of the truest and most noble emotion. Grief is a price paid with gratitude to be honored with the opportunity to love and be loved, especially by a woman like Lura Elaine Thomas.

A celebration of life in honor of Elaine will take place Saturday, January 12, 2019 with visitation from 2:00 – 4:00 pm with a service to follow from 4:00 – 5:00 pm at Becker Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to The American Cancer Society in Lura Elaine's honor.
