Obituary

Luis Luna
06/21/1971-08/28/22
On December 28, 2022 Luis Luna was called home to our lord and savior while being surrounded at home by his wife, children, mother, siblings and family. He is now accompanying his father and sister who were also were called last year by our lord. Little did we all know or never imagined that he was battling cancer himself.
Luis Luna is survived by his beloved wife Estela Luna whom he married on August 03, 1995. He is also survived by his four children, the oldest son Luis Jorge (26), Edgar (23), Deysy 21 and Elizabeth 19. He was just beginning to enjoy his moments as a grandfather to his first and only grandchild Liam 6 months old. Luis was the third oldest of his 8 other siblings. Luis Luna was born in a small town named San Isidro, Michoacán in Mexico. He grew up in a loving and united household with his mother Zenaida Luna and father Benjamin Luna Magaña (now deceased), and with his 8 other siblings. They all migrated to the United States later on and they all resided in Florida, where they built a family of their own. They all worked together to help their parents and this never changed even after they all got married.  Among all the family values taught to them,  being united and helpful to each was one the most important values taught by theirs parents.
As we remember all our time spend with Luis we also think of all his passions. Luis also enjoyed singing. As a young man he taught himself to sing and to the play guitar. He was part of a family mariachi band that consisted of his cousins and uncles. He also would allow his sons to participate with him as they also showed their interest in music. Luis enjoyed other hobbies such as horse riding, hunting, gardening but he especially loved to work. Being a hard worker is another trait picked up by this parents. He loved his job and was really good at what he did. He was a excavator operator and he did this for 18 years. He enjoyed working so much that even at his end of life he preferred to be at work. By then he was not able to do the same labor he used to but just being a the job sites and being able to have an opinion about the projects was better than being home for him. We are so thankful that at least he was able to keep his mind focused on something other than his battle with cancer.
Our family gatherings were one of a kind. They were always full of harmony, laughter and love. Luis and his sister (Guille) were always seen as their family leaders. They were the ones who our family would always go to plan any event. They were most known for their catering services. Luis enjoyed cooking as much as we all enjoyed the meals he shared. His meals will never be as flavorful as the ones he made.
Luis had a loving spirit and he was always so giving. He always put others needs before himself. He was always there for anyone who needed a hand. His home was open to everyone especially family and friends. He was loved by so many people and will be missed so much. We will always carry a piece of him in our hearts. He will always be remembered through a song he used to love to sing. As hard as it is for us to accept god plans we know that his last moments were very difficult for him and now he is no longer suffering. The idea of him being at peace with the rest of his family in heaven is the only thing that comforts our hearts of his departure.

A Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, January 7, 2023, 11am, at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church.  Interment will follow at Linden Cemetery.  The family will receive friends Friday, January 6, 2023 from 6pm until 9pm at Becker Funeral Home.
