Louis Malton Whitney Jr. passed away in the presence of his beloved wife on Thursday August 9th, 2018 at his home in Clermont, Florida at the age of 83. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Skaidrite Ann Whitney, his only son Robert Louis Whitney, two daughters Cindy Whitney-Sherry and Shari Lynn Torregrosa, spouses of children, Laurie Whitney, Joey Torregrosa. Grandchildren: Kevin Louis Torregrosa, Paul Sherry, Nicolas Torregrosa, Anna Whitney, Connor Whitney, Shianne Langley, spouses: Courtney Torregrosa, Taryn Brooke Torregrosa, and only great-grandchild Frankie Torregrosa.
Louis was born on June 18th 1935 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis Malton Whitney Sr. and Myrtice Marie Heskin-Whitney and his twin sisters Jean Nilson and Jane Guthrie. He graduated from Kearny Mesa High School in San Diego, California in 1953. He served in the U.S. Army as a personnel specialist. He graduated from Mesa College in San Diego, California with an A.A. in Business Management and from National University with a B.S. in Industrial Management. He then went on to work at General Dynamics which merged into Stromberg-Carlson as an engineer-V.P. of Human Relations for 35 years.
When he retired he was able to devote his time to his life-long passion of motocross where he created ProSports U.S.A as CEO and ran Bithlo Motocross track and promoted several motocross events through the state of Florida where he impacted the lives of many motocross families along with his wife Sky. He himself had so much passion for riding, he was still on his motorcycle almost all the way to the end.
Lou will always be remembered for being a hard working man with a kind and compassionate heart and most of all for his incredible love for his family and a smile no one will ever forget.
