Lou Evan Brannon, 89, Groveland met Jesus in Paradise Saturday, November 19, 2011. Born in Winter Garden, she was a life-long resident of Central Florida. She earned a degree in business administration while attending college in Bowling Green, Kentucky. Mrs. Brannon was an active member of Edge Memorial United Methodist Church where she sang and directed the choir. She and her husband, W.E. "Brat" Brannon owned and operated Brannon's Food Center for 46 years in downtown Groveland. "Brat" passed away on November 15, 2000. She is survived by her son William "Bill" Reddick Brannon of Sevierville, TN; daughter Lisa Brannon Grant and husband Thomas of Orlando and, grandchildren Jordan Grant, Orlando and PV2 Jonathan Grant and wife Sheena, Vicenza, Italy. She is also predeceased by her sisters Jean Pitchford and Francine Reddick.
A Celebration of Mrs. Brannon's life will be held at noon Wednesday, November 23 at Edge Memorial United Methodist Church with Reverend Donna Manwaring officiating. She will be laid to rest next to her husband in Greenwood Cemetery, Groveland. Friends are invited to pay their respects Tuesday, November 22 from 4PM-7PM at Edge Memorial United Methodist Church.
