Obituary

Loretta Diane Griffith, a beacon of warmth and love in Clermont, Florida, passed away peacefully at her hospice home on February 25th, 2024, surrounded by her adoring husband, children, daughter-in-law, and grandchildren. Born on April 5th, 1946, to Joseph and Julia Zultowski. Loretta's early years in Brooklyn NY, framed a life that was as vibrant as the orchids she tended with such care and dedication. She had many homes in many states which included Arkansas, Idaho, Washington, and finally settled in Florida.

Loretta's journey of learning began at St. Brendan Diocesan High School, continued through her early career on Wall Street in the early 60's. After her marriage to the love of her life, Thomas Griffith, her life became an embodiment of love, not only for her husband but also for her beloved children, Mitchell Stocki, Tiffany Griffith "deceased", Ashley McConnell, her adored grandchildren, Savannah, Sawyer, Alexis, Paige, Erik, Peyton, Bria, Sienna, Jameson, Julietta, Grace, and Kimber and great granddaughter Aurora.

Loretta's passion for travel was matched only by her dedication to service. Whether fostering the homeless community as a volunteer and as a greeter at her church, she moved through life with a gentle determination to make everyone around her feel loved.

Her hobbies—gardening, film, and volunteering at the local homeless shelter—reflected a life of intention and joy. At the same time, her travels spoke of her enduring fascination with the world's tapestry of history and culture with special ties to Poland and Czechoslovakia.

Loretta's life was a collection of chapters that told a story of dedication, love, and kindness, especially to those who served. Owning a tavern in a Navy port she would make sure sailors who couldn't make it home for the holidays had a place in her home. She is survived by her children, Mitchell, and Ashley; her siblings, Thomas; her grandchildren, daughter in-law Melissa, son-in-law Josh, and a community that will forever be grateful for her kindness, warmth, and larger than life smile. She now joins her beloved Tiffany and parents in eternal rest.

A service to honor Loretta's life will be held at Becker Funeral Home on March 8th, 2024 at 3:00, where memories of her will bloom as brightly as her cherished Orchids.
