Lona Mae Williams, 87, Clermont, passed away July 2, 2011. She was born August 5, 1923 in Brunswick, Georgia to John and Annie Mae Dorsey. On December 16, 1939 she was united in marriage to Maloy Williams in Surrency, GA . Maloy passed away July 15, 2010. They were married over 70 years. Lona was a retired candy maker for Carolyn's Candies at the Citrus Tower in Clermont. She is survived by her children; David "Sonny" Williams (Sherry) of Climax, GA, Carolyn Campbell (Chuck) of Bunnell, FL, Allafaye Taylor (Troy), Tavares, FL, James "Peanut" Williams, Clermont, FL, Shirley Carver (Larry, dec.), Statenville, GA, Randy Williams (Donna), Glade Hill, VA, and Rita Ray (Kevin), Climax, GA. She is also survived by her sisters, Edith Fields, Betty Jean Spivey and Levonia Wilkinson. Other survivors include 21 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren. She is pre-deceased by her husband Maloy, six siblings, 1 grandson and 1 great-great granddaughter.
A service to celebrate the life of Lona Mae Williams will be held Wednesday, July 6, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. in the Chapel of the Becker Family Funeral Home with Brother Ron Bates, Pastor of the Church of God of Prophecy in Ocoee officiating. She will be laid to rest next to her husband in Minneola Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday, July 5, 2011 from 6pm-8pm to pay their respects. The family suggest, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to Cornerstone Hospice. Becker Family Funeral Home, 806 W. Minneola Ave., Clermont, FL in charge of arrangements.
