Ligaya B. Wery, affectionately known as "Joy", passed away October 13, 2014 at home. She was born September 18, 1968 in Laoag City, Philippines daughter of Victoria Topinio & Serapio Baccay. On March 30 1990, she was united in marriage to Richard Clay Wery in the Philippines. A central Florida resident since 2007 from Washington State, she held an Environmental Services (Lead) position at South Lake Hospital and owner of Joy's Cleaning Service. She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church and participated in all church activities until her illness. In addition to her husband Richard, she is survived by five sons, three of which are currently serving in the US Army; Bonaparte James Kahiwa Wery, Tripler Army Medical Center, Hawaii; Erik Clay Kalewa Wery, 10th Mountain Division, Ft. Polk, LA; William Max Kalalea Wery, 25th Infantry Division, Hawaii & Reginald Kaeokulani Wery & Richard Karl Kuhaimoana Wery, Jr., both of Clermont. She was very close to her boys and always took the opportunity to mention them to her friends and coworkers.
Mass of the Resurrection for Joy Wery will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 18, 2014 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 720 12th Street, Clermont, FL.
