LEROY “Lee” GREBEN
OCOEE – Lee Greben, 93 died on April 27, 2026 at the Mike Conley Hospice House in Clermont, FL. He was born April 24, 1933 in Brooklyn, NY, the daughter of Anne (Dostis) and Abraham Greben.
Lee graduated from Albany High School, Class of 1951. He was predeceased by the love of his life, Carol (Fischer) Greben. They celebrated 65 years of marriage.
After Lee and Carol were married in 1955, they embarked on their life adventure. First they headed to Cleveland, OH, where Lee attended Case Institute of Technology. While there, Lee was a member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon (SAE) Fraternity. After graduation, Lee started his career as a sales engineer in Cincinnati, OH. While there, their oldest child, Elizabeth Ann (Liz), was born. They made a home there for 2 years before heading to Longmeadow, MA in 1964. One of their favorite activities there was participating in the New Comers Club as well as enjoying time at the community pool. After 2 years they moved to Liverpool, NY, where they spent the next 33 years raising and adding to their family. Lee first worked for Ross Equipment Company and then opened his own business. In 1971 the family was blessed with another daughter, Lara Jeanne.
Lee and Carol participated in the Central NY Chapter of Experiment in International Living, which placed foreign visiting groups with local families. He supported Carol’s love for performing and theater by helping back stage with Clay Towne Players. Lee was an avid golfer, and they were members of Beaver Meadows Golf Club where he participated in the Men’s League.
In 1999 Lee and Carol moved to Mulberry, FL where they spend 20 years. He continued working as an engineer and taught math and electronics at a local community college. He also continued golfing at Imperial Lakes Country Club in their community.
Surviving are his daughters Liz (Art) Ausburn of Ocoee, FL and Lara Westphal of Tampa, FL; his five grandchildren, Stephanie Carnevale (Greg) of Tampa, FL, Ethan (Leslie) Ausburn and Ben Ausburn of San Francisco, CA, Miriam “Mia” Westphal and Tiffany Westphal of Tampa, FL and one great grandchild Violet Ausburn of San Francisco, CA.
