IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Leroy
Abraham
September 17, 1940 – December 24, 2023
Leroy "Lee" Abraham, born on September 17th, 1940, passed away peacefully on December 24th, 2023 in Florida. Lee was born in Silver Stream Fyzabad, Trinidad. Throughout his childhood and young adulthood, Lee built a strong connection to his Christian faith. After graduating from seminary school, he served his local community as a Sunday School teacher. Additionally, he worked in accounting for Texaco's drilling department.
He married his beautiful wife, Loureen in 1968. In 1971, he migrated to the United States in hopes of better opportunities for his family, settling down in Boston, Massachusetts. While in Boston, he worked for Honeywell and Stride Rite as a Computer Technician and as a Security Officer for Watts Security. His work ethic compared to none as he usually held multiple jobs at once. Lee moved to Clermont, Florida in 2021 where he spent his last years with his wife, children and grandchildren.
Lee was known for his green thumb. He took great pride in growing and caring for his beautiful red and pink roses and blue and purple hydrangeas in Boston. He absolutely loved all animals and found great comfort in being in their presence. Lee also loved his diverse vinyl collection. You could usually find him playing Calypso, Indian, Country Western, Blue Grass or Gospel music from his home while he worked in his yard. Music served as his peaceful retreat. Lee enjoyed watching cricket, soccer and hockey. His favorite sports team was the Boston Bruins and he was a huge fan of Larry Bird and the Celtics. Many who knew Lee would be surprised to know that he wrote poetry and short stories. He held his creativity and artistic expressions close to his heart.
Lee is survived by his loving wife, Loureen, his daughters, Lisa Abraham and Amanda Seepersad; his son-in-law, Ryan Seepersad; his grandsons, Antonio and Alfonzo Rodriguez and his granddaughter, Ava Seepersad. Lee is predeceased by his father, Solomon Abraham, and his mother, Dolly Abraham both of Trinidad. He was brother to Margaret Elofson of Sweden, Barbara Seales of Boston, Amy Ramdeo (predeceased) of Boston, Shirley "Betty" Abraham (predeceased) of Trinidad, Raymond Abraham of Trinidad, Romulus Abraham of Trinidad, Helen Abraham of Trinidad, and Anna Abraham of Trinidad. Lee was son-in-law to Boysie (predeceased) and Ursula Jhurilal of Boston and Abrahim (predeceased) and Zalina Shah (predeceased) of Trinidad. He was also a loving uncle to a multitude of nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews.
