Leonard Stanley Welper, 84, of Clermont, FL passed away Wednesday, December 19, 2012 at Leesburg Regional Medical Center.  Leonard was born on July 19, 1928 in Detroit, MI, the son of Peter and Kate (nee Sokolowski) Welper.  Leonard moved to Lake Co. in May of 1945 and was a longtime resident of both Leesburg and Clermont.  He worked in the family industrial linen business, before becoming involved in land clearing.  Leonard was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Clermont.

Leonard is survived by his sister, Dorothy Welper of Clermont; step-daughter, Susan Eicher of Summerfield, FL; niece, Carolyn Sorokin; nephews, Andrew Thomas Welper and Dale Paul Welper and 4 great niece and nephews.



A Mass of the Resurrection will be held at 11:30 AM Thursday, December 27, 2012 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church.  Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Leesburg.  Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 PM Wednesday at the funeral home.  The family suggests contributions to a charity of your choice.
