Larry Dale Schmude passed away peacefully in Mascotte, Florida, on March 23, 2026, at the age of 87. Born April 15, 1938, in Port Huron, Michigan, he was the son of Edward August Schmude and Alva Marie (Pringle).

He served with pride in the US Navy aboard the USS Charles S. Sperry in Norfolk, VA, earning the National Defense Service Medal during the Korean Conflict. Larry spent his career in building maintenance, where he met his cherished wife, Suzie. The couple lived in Port Huron and were members of Mt. Pleasant Bible Church in Goodells, MI. After Suzie’s passing, Larry relocated to Florida, living with his son Brant and family until his death.

Larry was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 46 years, Suzie (Marshall) Schmude. He is survived by his three children: Brant (Jennifer) Barber, Lisa (David) Frank, Chris (Erika) Barber, as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date in Port Huron, MI.
