LaForest Josephine "LaJo" Richter

LaJo was born in Philadelphia, PA, to a LaForest and Edward Mizelle.

She married Gene Richter on July 1, 1966 and had two children, Gene and wife, Karen, and Trish.  Her grandchildren are Rylee and Jase Richter, Cole Blunt and wife Ashley, and two grand daughters, Danny and Jamie Blunt.  She has a sister, Sharon, from Center Hill, and brother, Eddie and wife Susan, from Orlando.

LaJo graduated from Maynard Evans High School in 1964.  She lived in Pine Hills before retiring.  Gene and LaJo retired as owners of Lee and Ricks Oyster Bar in Orlando, and moved to Groveland in 2006.

She was an avid bowler, loved to travel with friends, which included going to Hawaii, Alaska, Africa, Mexico, and Germany.  She took many cruises.

LaJo died after a battle with Alzheimer's Disease which lasted over four years.

She was loved and will be missed by all.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday, November 6, 2025, at 2pm, at Becker Funeral Home.  Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery in Groveland. The family will receive friends Wednesday, November 5, 2025, from 5pm until 7pm.
