L. Wayne Blackledge, 84, of Clermont, FL passed away Tuesday, August 2, 2011. Wayne was born on August 2, 1927 in Jet, Oklahoma, the son of the late Haskell and Mildred Blackledge. Wayne received a Masters Degree in Theology and after many years as a Methodist minister retired. Upon retiring from the ministry he worked as an architectural woodworker. Wayne moved to the Clermont area in 1999 after previously living in Tacoma, Washington and enjoyed spending time in Franklin, NC. He also enjoyed square dancing, wood carving and traveling which took him throughout the United States as well as other countries.
Wayne is survived by his wife, Shirley; sons, David Blackledge of St. Louis, MO, Mark Feldhaus of Bellingham, WA, Daniel Allen of Olympia, WA and Philip Blackledge of Tacoma, WA; siblings, Chester Blackledge of Oklahoma City, OK, Elsie Tarrant of Jet, OK, Alice Anderson of Enid, OK, Harold Ray Blackledge of OK and Paul Blackledge of Jet, OK; and grandchildren, Michael, Chris, Rebecca and Matthew.
Funeral Services and interment will take place in Bloomington, IN. There will be no services held in Clermont. The family suggests in lieu of flowers donations be made to the American Diabetes Association.
