Mr. Kneeland Elmer Ellsworth Munson III died peacefully at his home on March 13, 2018 in Ocala, FL at the age of 75. Kneeland is survived by his two children with Margarita Munson; son, Kneeland Elmer Ellsworth Munson IV, Jacksonville, FL and daughter, Madeline Federico, Lynnfield, Massachusetts, her husband Richard E. Federico and grandson Richard A. Federico. Kneeland was born on November 19, 1942 in Clermont, FL to Edith Hazel Hull Munson and Kneeland Elmer Ellsworth Munson, II. He played football and graduated from Clermont High School in 1961. After honorably serving his country for 20 years in the U.S. Navy, including tour of duty on the U.S.S Norfolk DL-1 during the Cuban missile crisis and later serving as a Recruiter, he went on to a second career and retired from the Florida Department of Corrections.
Kneeland liked to fish, plant trees and cook. It has been rumored that his oyster dressing was one of the finest east of the Mississippi. His laughter was contagious and his heart was giving. The viewing is scheduled at 4 pm-6 pm, Sunday, March 18th and the funeral will be held at 11 am, Monday, March 19th at Becker Funeral Home, 806 W. Minneola Ave., Clermont, FL.
