Connor, Kevin Lee, 61, of Clermont, FL, died February 11, 2015. Born in East St. Louis, IL, Kevin was the son of Glenn and Carole Connor. Kevin graduated from Belleville Township High School West where he was a record holding pole-vaulter. He attended William Jewell College and was a proud Sigma Nu brother. He later graduated from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville with a degree in Math and Computer Science. Kevin was a computer programmer, analyst, and salesman. Kevin lived in Belleville, IL and relocated to Plant City, FL in 1987 with Compaq/Hewlett Packard. The Connor Family has resided in Clermont, FL since 1997. Kevin was best known for his musical talents, mischievous antics, and loud conversation. He loved riding his motorcycle and jamming on his bass guitar. Kevin was involved with the youth group at First Baptist Church Clermont and played in the praise bands at First Baptist Church Clermont and First Baptist Church Montverde. Kevin was a loving husband, devoted father, son, and brother and was survived by his wife of 39 years, Linda (Middleton) Connor, his children: Kristin (Connor) Willis, Todd Willis, Lance, Kathryn, and Logan, and grandchildren: Savannah, Carter, Cooper, and Campbell. Other survivors include: his mother, Carole (Stevens) Connor and siblings, Kurt and Kelly (Connor) Sonnenberg, and his father and mother-in-law, Gene and Loretta (Reames) Middleton. Kevin was diagnosed with Frontotemporal Dementia (FTD) and Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) in April 2012. He demonstrated great bravery in the midst of these degenerative diseases. His family would like to acknowledge and thank the many family, friends, and medical professionals that loved, supported, and cared for him. In an effort to help others, Kevin donated his body to the Mayo Clinic to further research for both FTD and ALS.
A memorial service will be held at First Baptist Church Montverde, 17409 8th Street, Montverde, FL 34756, on Saturday, February 21, 2015 at 10:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the ALS Association Florida Chapter at webfl.alsa.org or Cornerstone Hospice at cshospice.org .
