Kenneth Lee
Riley
September 11, 1939 – June 17, 2022
On Friday June 17, 2022 at the age of 82 Kenneth Lee Riley passed away in The Villages, Florida. Ken was born on September 11, 1939 in Friberg, Minnesota, he was the son of Hazel Alvina and Raymond Riley.
Ken spent his toddler years in Minnesota learning early life lessons while growing up on a farm. When he was about 5 years old he traveled to WA state with his mother and family in a Model A Ford. Washington is where Ken grew up and in 1957 he graduated from Bethel High School. At the age of 17 Ken joined the United States Navy. He was in the Navy for 4 years and served his country in Korea.
Ken married Sandra McElroy in 1961, they had two children Colleen and Kenny Jr. Ken was a wonderful father and said that his children were his greatest accomplishment. His daughter even once said, she felt like she had won the "Parent Lotto"!
Ken launched his career with Angelica Uniform company after he answered a newspaper ad seeking a Sales Rep. for the WA and Oregon territory. He received many accolades and held many titles including VP of Regional accounts and VP of National accounts. Ken and his family relocated to CA, HI, and eventually Florida where he retired after 38 years with Angelica.
Ken was kind hearted, funny, and wow…could he tell an entertaining story. He was animated and could tell stories about his life experiences that would keep everyone enthralled. If a stranger told him their name he would remember it. He had a way to make people feel welcome, like they were a friend.
Ken enjoyed sports, he loved golfing, he had quite a few hole in ones throughout his years of golf. He traveled to several different places in and out of the country. If someone said "Cruise" he would be there. He spent lots of time with family and friends traveling and just enjoying life.
Ken's smile, kind heart, and outgoing personality will be greatly missed. A Life Well Lived is a lasting memory our grateful hearts will treasure.
Ken was preceded in death by his Mother Hazel A. King, Father Raymond Riley, his two sisters Eva Riley and Elaine Jorgensen, and his seven brothers, Vernon and Duane Welch, Robert, Thomas, Allan, Raymond, and Bill Riley.
