Obituary

Kathleen K. King, of Wynantskill, NY and Clermont, FL was born March 5, 1948 in Baltimore, MD and passed away February 6, 2017 due to multiple complications from emergency surgery in December. Kathy was an amazing wife, sister, aunt, "Ma", "Gamma" and friend. She is survived by her high school sweetheart and husband of 46 years, Alan; daughter, Vicki; son, Scott; daughter-in-law, Allison; and grandchildren, Collin, Jaden and Avery. She was predeceased by her brother William, and is survived by her siblings, James Kralec and Judy Atkinson, as well as several nieces, nephews and countless dear friends.
Kathy was one-of-kind. She touched and influenced the lives of many, including the 100+ children she helped raise in her daycare center and numerous young adults to whom she became "Ma2". She loved to spend time with family and friends and lavish them with her beautiful smile, sense of humor, endless stories and incredible cooking. In addition to cooking and entertaining, like hosting "Putt Putt" parties for 30-40 people, she thoroughly enjoyed reading, and watching and feeding her birds (and sneaky squirrels). One of her favorite places to relax and entertain her family and friends was Lake George, NY. The other was as an aspiring golfer and avid snowbird in Kings Ridge. She will be greatly missed by all that loved her, oodles and oodles.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Lung Association, American Cancer Society or a charity of your choice, in her honor, if you would like.
