Julia Waugh Hoskins, 79, of Leesburg, Florida passed Wednesday, October 29, 2014. Julia was born on July 30, 1935 in Terre Haute, Indiana, the daughter of Clarence E. and Maxine Myers Brown. She was married to Rev. Bill Waugh from 1955 until his death in 1999. Julia was a pianist for over 35 years, playing in many of the Methodist churches during her husband's church services. In 2005 she married Johnie Hoskins of Leesburg, FL, and Waterford, MI. She became a snowbird for a few years until his death in 2013. Julia was a loving wife and mother and enjoyed working with children from broken homes. Throughout the last several years, she took on the responsibility of being a caregiver to several of her longtime friends. She and her late husband, Johnie, enjoyed playing and singing gospel music in churches and nursing homes. Julia was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Chapter 528, Terre Haute, IN, for over 50 years. She was also a member of the United Methodist Church, Eustis, FL. She was preceded in death, by her sister, Sue Johnson-McLaughlin of Austin, TX and brothers, Max O. Brown of Umatilla, FL and David E. Brown of Deltona, FL. Surviving are a daughter Debbie Sweany (Scott) of Vallonia, IN, two grandsons Blake and Casey Ross of Indianapolis, IN, brothers Lloyd "LP" Brown (Susan) of Umatilla, FL, Robert L. Brown (Rose) of Buckeye, AZ and sister Betty Dexter (Steven) of Lafayette, IN. She also leaves behind several nieces and nephews.



Private interment will be at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Julia's memory to Cornerstone Hospice, 2445 Lane Park Rd., Tavares, FL 32778. BECKER FUNERAL HOME, CLERMONT, FL, is serving the family.
