Obituary
Joyce I. Dunn passed on to her heavenly home on Tuesday, January 10, 2017, just 10 days after she celebrated her 82
nd
birthday in grand fashion with her children and grandchildren. She was the wife of the late Rev. William T. Dunn. Joyce was born in Delaware County, PA, to the late Norman W. Rowand and Esther Young Rowand. She is proceeded in death by a brother, Norman J. Rowand (Bo). Joyce is survived by her sister, Patsy Andrews, of Colorado Springs, CO, a daughter, Darlene Lee Giessler, and her husband, Timothy, of Coopersburg, PA, a son, Paul Timothy Dunn, and his wife, Lisa, of Davenport, FL, and five grandchildren: Joshua Giessler and his wife, Laura Williams, Noel Giessler, Nicholas, Jacob, and Emily Dunn.
Joyce had a gentle spirit and welcoming smile that touched many lives. She was a true servant of the Lord and wonderful example of a godly wife, mother, and grandmother. She served alongside her husband in Christian ministry for over 58 years in Chester Springs, PA, Kennett Square, PA, Massillon, OH, and Lansdale, PA. During that time, her ministry included singing in the choir, teaching children's Sunday school, coordinating the senior saints, as well as other church ministries. Joyce and Bill lived at Dock Woods Community in Lansdale, PA, for six years, and recently, she moved to Davenport, FL, to live with her son and family. Prior to retirement, she enjoyed working at Dunn's Cards & Gifts and upon entering Dock Woods, she volunteered in their community store. She enjoyed playing golf, gardening and bird watching.
A celebration of life service will be held at a future date at First Baptist Church, Lansdale. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the First Baptist Church, 700 N. Broad Street, Lansdale, PA 19446 or to the American Cancer Society at https://donate3.cancer.org.
