IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Joyce Denise
Bartlett
July 22, 1960 – January 13, 2023
Joyce "Joy" Denise Bartlett went home to Jesus on January 13, 2023.
Joy was born on July 21, 1960, in Knoxville, Tennessee and the family moved to Florida in 1964 where
they remained. She worked at Hamilton Doll Company where she loved to spoil all her children and
nieces with the beautiful dolls that most still own to this day. She worked and retired from CSX Railroad
Company where she met some lifelong friends.
Joy was greeted with open arms by her parents, James Roy, and Peggy Joyce Smith. Also, by her
younger brother Martin Floyd "Marty" and niece Michelle Lorraine. She is survived by her older brother
James Roy Smith "JR" (Leslie) and her younger sister Penny Diane Voss (Rick) and her four children
Christina, Tonya, Stephanie, and Garry. Her grandchildren Jonathan, Aidan, and Ethan. Her nieces Dawn
(Mike), Jamie (James), Diane (Kevin), and her only nephew, Eric, who she treated like her own kids. Her
great nieces and nephews that were like her grandchildren, Tony, Corey, Keri, Devon, William, Arianna,
Adrianna and Gianna and her great-great niece Ariya and great-great nephew Christian. She also leaves
behind her cousins and family friends.
She leaves behind a dysfunctional and loving family. She was very proud to be a part of our family. Joy
was known for speaking her mind. She always told you the truth even if it wasn't what you wanted to
hear. She loved music and was always the first one to dance. She fought a hard battle to overcome
breast cancer, but it returned and spread. She lived her life to the fullest. Even though we weren't
ready for her to get her wings she wouldn't want us to grieve too long as she is now free.
