Obituary
Joseph Griffin Holt was born in Cape May, NJ in 1937. He was the oldest of 5 siblings. While enlisted in the Air Force in 1956 he was stationed in Orlando, FL where he met Shirley Palmer who was a teacher at Clermont High School. Joseph and Shirley raised their family in Orlando where he spent most of his career as a Real Estate Broker and Investor. He moved to the Gem of the Hills in 1987 and became active in Civic Projects such as the Jaycee beach re-nourishment and the development and construction of Park Pals on 12th Street. Clermont held a special place in his heart.
Surviving are his beloved Shirley; children; Joseph Edward (Abby) Holt, Clearwater; Timothy Holt, Dunedin, FL; Roger (Angela) Holt, Christmas, FL & Heidi Holt, Clermont; 9 grandchildren; 1 great-grandson & siblings Edward Holt, Cocoa, FL; Grace "Candy" (Raymond) Lehman, Bangor, PA & Lawrence (Sharon) Holt, Orlando. His brother Henry Siegfried Holt preceded him in death on September 6, 2015.
There will be an intimate graveside service Saturday, May 28, 2016 at Oak Hill Cemetery with Pastor Ricardo Orsini officiating. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Joe's favorite charity, the Salvation Army. (beckerfamilyfuneral.com)
