Jorge "George" Mora passed away peacefully on June 9, 2024.
Jorge Humberto Mora was born in San Jose, Costa Rica on August 18, 1941. He lived
in Costa Rica until he was 15 years old, when he and his sister, Carmen, moved to New
York City. Jorge lived in New York City until he joined the United States Navy at the age
of 16. He served in the US Navy for seven years. Jorge graduated with a B.A in
Marketing from San Diego State University (CA) in 1974. He enjoyed a long, successful
career in business, both in the private and public sector. Jorge and his wife, Mary,
relocated to Clermont in the Fall of 2019.
Jorge was an avid soccer player during his youth, having won the City of New York
Championship in high school. Jorge enjoyed many hobbies over the years including
carpentry, reading, drawing, and tennis.
Jorge is survived by his loving wife of over 50 years, Mary A. Mora; daughter Marisa
Soto-Harrison and his sons Craig Mora and Shawn Mora; his grandchildren, Eric G.
Soto-Harrison, Evan Soto-Harrison, Faith Mora, Cole Mora, Kate Mora, and Cohen
Mora.
A Celebration of Life will be held for invitees at the Summit Green Clubhouse on
Tuesday, June 25, 2024 from 1pm until 3pm
