Obituary

In loving memory of my beloved Husband, best friend and soulmate:

JORDAN W. GRIFFEN 3/31/73 – 7/8/2020

I am deeply saddened to write that my beloved Jordan born March 31, 1973, in St. Louis, Missouri earned his Angel Wings on July 8, 2020 in Ocoee, Florida. I was at Jordan's side, holding his hand, telling my Jordan how much he was loved and how desperately I needed him to stay with me, and prayed for a miracle which never came. Jordan is and will always be my soulmate, my best friend and the love of my life.

Jordan was an only child to Chris and Rick Griffen and grew up in rural Catawissa, Missouri. Jordan graduated from Pacific High School in 1991. Shortly after, Jordan began his career at Six Flags in Eureka, Missouri where he made lifelong friendships with numerous
friends who loved and adored him and who had been in Cub Scouts with Jordan years before. In 1996, Jordan relocated to Orlando, Florida and began working as a Warner Brothers store associate. Later, he became a store manager for Casual Male. In 2010, Jordan began working as a CSR for Convergys in Lake Mary, Florida. In October 2006, my brother-in-law, Howard Gross, who worked with Jordan at Casual Male arranged for Jordan and I to meet on a casino cruise for my birthday celebration. The following Monday while at work, I told myself, "this is the man I am going to marry". Jordan proposed to me in May 2007 and I married the love of my life on May 17 , 2008.

At our wedding, we danced together to "Bless the Broken Road" by Rascal Flatts. Jordan was a quiet and humble man who never liked to be fussed over. He had the patience of a saint I so admired and was my quiet strength I so relied on. Jordan never had an unkind word for anyone. Jordan was so thoughtful and considerate of others. Jordan was always there for anyone who needed his help. Jordan had a passion for baseball becoming a lifelong fan of the St. Louis Cardinals. Growing up in the St. Louis area, Jordan's dad would often take him to see the Cardinals play. Together, Jordan and his dad would enjoy collecting baseball cards and autographs. Jordan helped me fall in love with the game of baseball, and of course, my favorite team is the Cardinals too. Jordan and I would often watch the games on TV together. Sometimes, Jordan would fall asleep listening on the MLB radio app to the Cardinals games. Jordan also loved a good hockey game, and of course, his favorite team was the St. Louis Blues. Jordan was extremely proud and happy when the Blues won the Stanley Cup in 2019. Another favorite pastime for Jordan was his love of video games which he would play alone or With his friends online, especially with his long time friend, Robert Love. Jordan could make any holiday fun. He was passionate about decorating our Christmas tree ensuring every ornament and lights were positioned just so. Jordan's reputation for his creative and unique gift wrapping was legendary in our family. He never liked for us to fuss over him, but he always made a "fuss" over us with his gift giving and wrapping.

Jordan is survived by his loving wife, Kathryn (Katie) M. Griffen and his beloved mother, Christine (Chris) Griffen. Jordan is preceded in death by his father, Richard (Rick) Griffen. A private family viewing for final goodbyes will be held on Tuesday, July 14, 2020 at Becker Funeral Home, Clermont, Florida. Jordan will be cremated and finally come back to our home. A virtual Celebration of Life is planned for a future date. Condolences and/or flowers may be sent to Katie Griffen, 15409 Georgia Oak Place, Winter Garden, FL 34787.
