Biography
John graduated Princeton high school in 1984 in Wisconsin. He was a tremendous track star and excelled in cross country, he was mentioned in the local newspaper. Joined the military right out of high school. John served his country in the US Army and later as a DOD contract worker in the Persian Gulf. During his tour he received multiple army commendation medals. He had many great memories with his fellow soldiers. Randy chappa was a childhood friend who served the military together. Randy will always be considered a brother and part of the family.
John did many jobs in the states and also worked contracting overseas. While working overseas he has received multiple certificates of appreciation and certificate of commendation during his time in Iraq and Afghanistan. During this time he had a great relationship with his fellows co-workers. John was very respected and loved. Johns latest state job was for Messer. John was a valued member of the Team, starting at Messer as a Bulk Driver in 2013 and later accepting the vital role of Driver Trainer in late 2021. He trained all current drivers and was an admired mentor to all his trainees, leading by example in all he did. John's commitment to excellence in safety, duty, and professionalism contributed greatly to the Team's ability to overcome challenges and maintain high performance levels over the last 11 years.
Starting in October of 2020 he was first diagnosed with AML ( Leukemia). It was an uphill battle. John went through many challenges. He always held is head up high and would never let the AML bring him down. He fought with every might he had. He would not let this cancer dictate how he lived his life. He lived his life to the fullest. A courageous 4 year battle which he fought with dignity.
He had a great passion for sports. He's favorite teams were the Chicago Bulls, Bears and Cubs. Loved the game of chess. Loved the outdoors enjoyed fishing, hiking, and sightseeing. Was very intrigued with history and found ways to expand his knowledge. John loved to travel went to many different countries. Loved to spend time with friends and family which gave him great happiness. He was very selfless and did more for others than himself. John had a great sense of humor. He was a devoted husband a supportive father and loving son.
He was so genuinely easy to love.
He will never be forgotten.
