John Robert Wisner, 94 years young, passed in his home surrounded by his family on Saturday, December 22 ^nd , 2018.

John was born June 10, 1924 in Flomaton, Alabama.  Moving to Mobile, Alabama with his parents as a teen, John joined the Navy immediately after high school.   Serving in World War II and Korean Wars as a Sailor and joining the United States Air Force to retire from McCoy AFB in 1964 for a total of 22 years of service.

Highlights of his amazing life journey included being a part of the initial cast crew for Walt Disney World as the Maintenance Director for the Polynesian and Contemporary Hotels & Project Manager for Mitchell Company.  His most fulfilling era of time was founding the Missionaries in Action Ministries and spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ for 20 years in Africa.

Receiving his Doctorate in Theology in 1998 he was known as Dr. John by many of his friends and associates.

John survived his wife Dorris Wisner, his daughter Pamela L. Wisner as well as son  Mike (Betty Jo) Murphy and grandchildren and great grandchildren who all celebrate his home coming and  Dorris' children Tim (Shelia) Scott, Charlotte (Daniel) Raines and David Scott.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Harold Otis Wisner and Verbie Hollinghead Wisner and one brother Wallace Andrew Wisner.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, December 29, 2018 at 11:00am at Southside Church of God of Prophecy at 1319 9 ^th Street, Winter Garden, Florida.  In lieu of flowers the family would ask that donations be made to Southside Church of God of Prophecy ministries.
