John Benjamin Phillips, age 59, of Joliet, Illinois, passed away unexpectedly on January 31, 2026. Born on November 20, 1959, he was a graduate of Romeoville High School, class of 1977. He furthered his education at Kemper Military School & College in Boonville, Missouri, and attended Lewis University in Romeoville, Illinois.

He is predeceased by his parents, Spencer E. Phillips and Nancy L. Phillips (Elens), and his sister, Barbara J. Phillips (Eggert). John is survived by his brother, Randall Phillips; his brother-in-law, Thomas Eggert; and his two nieces, Kathryn Eggert and Jessica Eggert, along with a wide circle of family and friends who cherished him.

John will be remembered for his kind spirit and the love he shared with those around him. His contributions to the lives of his family and friends will always be valued and remembered.
