J ohn William Murphy

October 1, 1934- June 16, 2022

Jack was born and raised in Queens, NY.  He retired from the NYC Police Department as a Sergeant in 1978 before moving to Cherry Grove, South Carolina where he spent the next 19 years as a painting contractor.

He was a Navy veteran on the USS Fiske during the Korean conflict. He has been a Knight of Columbus for over 60 years and is a lifetime Honorary member of Council #14217 and Assembly #2431. Jack served in many capacities in the Knights including PGK< District Deputy, FN and founding member of OLSS Assembly in NMB, SC.

He loved swimming and cruising, anything in the ocean, and often had his camera in hand!

Jack was the loving husband of Loretta for 66 ½ years and a deeply loved father of Ann Hahl (Bill), John C. (Michelle) and predeceased son Kevin P. (USN).

A beloved grandfather "Pop" of Nicole Marchant (Josh), Casey Davidson (Fraser) and Tegan Murphy. Three great-grandchildren were his dream

come true; Taylor & Ashlyn Marchant and Audrey Davidson.

He will be greatly mourned by his many nieces, nephews and friends.

A Mass of Celebration will be held on Friday June 24, 2022 at 11 AM at St. Faustina's Catholic church

1714 Highway 27(Suite 23), Clermont fl. 34714. Interment will be in South Carolina.

The family suggests in lieu of flowers memorials in John's name be made to the

St. Faustina Building Fund.
