CLERMONT, FL – John (Jack) F. Morrissey, Jr., 96, passed away June 14, 2026 at home. He was a longtime resident of Clermont, FL and formerly Cheshire, CT.

Jack was born on October 3, 1929 to the late John Francis Morrissey and Catherine Larkin Morrissey. Jack was predeceased by his sister, Claire and his wife, Betty (Vail) Morrissey.

Jack graduated from Brown University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering and was a Licensed Professional Engineer. He previously served in the Korean War as a Lieutenant with the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers.

A Connecticut native, Jack spent 34 years residing in Cheshire, CT before relocating to Clermont, FL after retiring from White Oak Corporation, where he served as President.

While in Connecticut, Jack was a longtime member and past President of The Farms Country Club. Jack was also a past President of Cheshire Junior Football and a past President of the Connecticut Road Builders Association.

Jack enjoyed an active lifestyle, golfing multiple times weekly, and logging thousands of miles biking and walking. He was a frequent patron at the local library and especially enjoyed listening to a great spy novel while on his daily walk. Jack is also an avid Dodgers fan.

As a connoisseur of fine Scotch, with a particular affinity for Johnny Walker Blue, Jack enjoyed hosting a loving circle of friends and neighbors, including his significant other Amy DeVore.

Jack is survived by his three sons, and their families:

David and his wife Susan of Winchester, MA, and sons Jackson and Nate;

Gary and his wife Trish of Bridgton, Maine and daughters Brenna and Kelly;

Bill and his wife Mary Carol of Hampstead, NC, and children Sean, Alyssa, Lauren and Zachary.
