IN LOVING MEMORY OF
John Christopher
Mcroy
June 22, 1961 – August 30, 2024
John Christopher McRoy, 63, of Leesburg, Florida, was brought home by his Savior on Friday, August 30th, 2024. He was born on June 22nd, 1961 in Clermont, Florida as the 2nd child of four to Oneal and Patricia McRoy.
John grew up in Ocoee, Florida, where he was the owner-operator of his own business in lawn care for a number of years. He married his wife, Frances, in 2003, and was tied to the Clermont community through his mother and maternal grandparents. John also felt called to relocate to South Carolina so he could care for his mother, returning to Florida after her death, and eventually residing in Leesburg, Florida. Growing up in a Presbyterian church during his childhood, John eventually became a member of New Life Church of God in Tavares, Florida.
Throughout his life, John enjoyed being around family, using his gift of singing and all things Jesus, which he was unequivocally passionate about. He got great enjoyment out of worshiping God, being able to spend time with his family, enjoying holiday gatherings with them and spending time with the grandchildren. John also adopted the Florida Gators as his college football team, and remained an avid fan as was often witnessed through the elaborate clothing he wore to show his support. He also loved being digitally proficient and enjoyed the movie space quite a bit.
John had a soul of gentleness that was evident to all around him, pets included. He truly loved the Lord with all his heart and had no problem sharing that with everyone around him. He also loved music and being able to share that through a gift he had of singing. Though our hearts long for his company, we celebrate his life knowing he is now home and eternally rejoicing with our Lord in heaven.
John is survived by his wife, Frances McRoy, brother Robert McRoy (Tina), sister Susan Getman (Dave), his 3 step-children: Ashley Martinez, Andrew Coburn, Floyd Coburn Jr. and 4 step-grandchildren: Tony Martinez, Silas Coburn, Abbie Reyes, and Brianna Joy.
