John "Mike" Jones, 74 of Clermont Florida, passed away December 30th, 2022 with his loving wife Johanna Jones by his side. He was born April 2, 1948 in Utica, NY to John Jones and Ester Campbell. As a graduate of Whitesboro High School, Mike joined the United States Air Force on January 26th, 1968 and began his journey of serving his country and traveling the world. On Mike's first assignment at Soesterberg AFB in the Netherlands, he met the love of his life Johanna "Joke" Van Werven.

They were married December 3rd, 1971. Mike proudly gave 30 years to the USAF and traveled to many wonderful places in the world. After retiring in 1997 they moved to Clermont, FL where they resided for 20+ years. Mike was no stranger to anyone and loved helping others in any way he could. What he loved most was his family. Spending time and traveling with his beloved "Joke" were among his favorite past times.

They shared a love like no other. He was proud of his three daughters and all of their accomplishments. He loved the company of his grandchildren, treating them to ice cream, going to the movies and just calling them to talk about school and sports.

Mike is survived by his loving wife Johanna Jones of 51 years, his daughters Jennifer Jones, Claudia Eviston and Nicole Prince; his two son-in-laws John Eviston and Paul Prince; his 4 beautiful grandchildren, Aiden Eviston, Liam Eviston, Aubrey Prince and Bradley Prince. The world without our beloved husband and father will never be the same. We find comfort in all the wonderful memories we have of him and will continue to celebrate his life, love and laughter. A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, January 8, 2023, 2pm, at Becker Funeral Home.  The family will receive friends starting at 1pm.
