John Erwin "Jay" Newton, age 59, Clermont, passed away August 28, 2015 at Orlando Regional Medical Center. He was born December 2, 1955 in Baton Rouge, LA son of Daisy Loraine Fitzgerald & James W. Newton.  He was owner/operator of Newton Works, Inc. in Clermont . Jay was a devoted father to Jared & Mason.  He had a passion for riding his Harley and was a great friend to many; always known for being a great listener and  "such a great guy". Sadly, Jared preceded him in death on November 15, 2013. Surviving are his son Mason; Kristyn Lynn Schlachter, his former wife & mother of the boys; siblings Mary Ann Michel, Conroe, TX; Greg Newton, Bulverde, TX & Rick Newton, Baton Rouge.

Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 7:00 PM on Thursday, September 3, 2015 in the Becker Chapel. Friends may call for one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions in his name to Wounded Warriors.org.
