John Yates Holland, July 6, 1971 to December 26, 2024

John, known to his family as "Jay", Holland passed away on December 26, 2024 in Clermont, Florida after a sudden brief illness.

John was born July 6, 1971 in Davenport, Iowa to Janet and John Holland. He grew up in Park View, Iowa, and graduated from North Scott high school in 1989. He pursued his genius in everything computers in an era when computers were just beginning to become standard in business and family life. He was always on the cutting edge of the knowledge, always able to tell you what would be the next thing, everyone will have one, everyone will carry around a phone, there will be ways to call each other with video, your phone will become the center controller in your house and life. At 18, while attending college, his natural talent was identified by an instructor who also worked for IBM and the recognition of his brilliance led to a career he loved and where he excelled until his death.

John will be remembered by all who knew and loved him as loving and compassionate in addition to his quick wit and sense of humor. Those left to honor his memory include his loving husband, Gerard Peralta, his mother, Janet Holland, his sisters Julie (Steve) Grolmus and Kit (Jim) Speirs, his nephews, Andy Lane, Steven Grolmus, Kayne, Ryan and Dylan Speirs. He is also survived by a niece, Ali (Tom) Heinrich and two great nephews, Rowan Lane and Max Heinrich. He was preceded in death by his father, John P. Holland and his loving dog, Winston.

Services for John will be held on December 30, 2024 from 4 to 6pm at Becker Funeral Home 806 West Minneola Avenue, Clermont, Florida. A prayer service will be held at 5pm.
