FEITSMA, JOAN HEARD, passed away Thursday afternoon, January 19, 2012, due to complications with her open heart surgery. Although, we were not ready for her to go- we know she is in the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ and we anxiously await our reunion with her. She is survived by her mother, Merle Heard, of Groveland; and two children, Angela Langley of Clermont and William Ahern of Groveland; grandchildren Brock Langley of Clermont, Corben Ahern, Riley Ahern, and Madeline Ahern of Groveland; sisters, Pat Hart of Groveland, and Brenda Prince of Bradenton Beach, as well as many nephews and nieces that will miss her. Joan grew up in Clermont, Florida, where she raised her two children as a single mother. She was always full of humor and words of wisdom. She loved gardening and cooking, and grew pineapples, grapes, and calamandas , which she would later turn into wonderful creations for her family to enjoy. Her later years were spent taking care of others. Joan spent several months caring for her brother, Donald Heard, of Port St. Lucie, who had cancer. Joan said this was one of the most fulfilling times of her life because she learned the true meaning of being a servant like our Lord. She will be laid to rest next to her brother in Oak Hill Cemetary in Clermont, Fl. She lived with her mother, Merle, whom she loved dearly and her grandson, Corben, who was the apple of her eye. One of Joan and Corben' favorite pastimes was going garage-saling on weekends. Joan, we miss you terribly already. We know you did not want to die, but we also know you were ready to die, because you had a personal relationship with Jesus Christ our Savior. Services will be held on Sunday, January 22, 2012 at Hope International Church in Groveland, 7432 State Road 50. Visitation will be from 2:30-3:15, Service immediately following at 3:30, with interment at Oak Hill Cemetary in Clermont Fl.
