Joan Smith passed away peacefully at age 70 surrounded by her husband and children on March 23, 2026, in Clermont, Florida. She was born in Lockport, New York, on June 28, 1955, to Karl and Norma (Spoor) Baudentistle, where she lived most of her life before relocating to Minneola, Florida in 2015.

Joan loved to spend her days traveling, going to the beach, camping, and spending time on Wolfe Island in Canada. Being surrounded by her family and grandchildren brought her the greatest happiness. Throughout her life, Joan held a deep love for Jesus and remained steadfast in her faith.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sister Barbara Stickney and brothers James Baudendistle, Charles Baudendistle, and Keith Baudendistle.

She is survived by her husband of nearly 46 years, Robert Smith, her sons Joshua (Kimberly) Smith and Ryan (Rebecca) Smith, her daughter Shannon Smith, and her grandchildren Parker, Nora, Michaela, and Aiden. Also surviving are her siblings Sharon Hagan, Richard (Sharon) Baudendistle, Janet Baudendistle, Kenneth (Tracey) Baudendistle, and several nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, April 18, 2026, 11 am, at Lockport Alliance Church, 555 Davison Rd, Lockport, NY 14094. The family will receive friends from 9:30 am until 11 am.
