It is with great sadness that the family of Jean-Paul Fagot announces his passing after his courageous battle of COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease) on Friday, February 16, 2018 at the age of 77.
Jean-Paul will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 54 years Suzette and their children Lionel and Corinne (Robert). Jean-Paul will also be fondly remembered by his 6 grandchildren, Liam, Gabrielle, Austin, Cody, Mathias and Jacob and by his sister Claude.
A Celebration of Life will be held in memory of Jean-Paul on Tuesday, February 20, 2018 from 4:00-6:00 pm at Becker Funeral Home, 806 W Minneola Ave., Clermont FL 34712 .
Jean-Paul was born in Bathurst, Senegal (Africa) in 1940. He and his family moved back to Grenoble, France when he was 5 years. From a young age Jean-Paul wanted to be an artist. He started his apprenticeship to become a Pastry Chef at the age of 13 and owned a pastry shop in Nice, France with his wife Suzette prior to immigrating to Canada in 1967.
Jean-Paul will be best remembered by his creativity in his 40 year career as a Corporate Pastry Chef working for the most prestigious hotels. His career allowed him to travel the world which inspired many of his creations throughout his life. His paintings were much appreciated by his friends and family who have benefited from hundreds of his one of kind creations.
His creativity also expanded into the kitchen where he spent countless hours baking, cooking and creating culinary delights for his friends and family.
Jean-Paul was a wise and gentle man. A man of few words, who expressed himself through his creativity. He inspired us in many ways through his work ethic, his artistry, his patience and his love for soccer. He will be forever in our hearts. May he rest in peace.
